Mrs Hannah Oakey, well known resident of Dickson City, died last night in the home of her daughter Mrs AW Schmidt, 611 Storrs Ave, after a 10 day illness. SHe leaves 3 sons and 3 daughters, as following:
John, Harry, James;
Mrs Schmidt; Mrs Gilbert Fay, Starlight; Mrs Howard Knight, Stockport NY.
The funeral will be at 2 oclock Saturday afternoon with services in the Schmidt home
The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 oclock with services at the house, Rev John A Bender of ST Mark’s Lutheran Church, West Scranton, officiating.
Burial in the Priceburg Cemetery.

The funeral of Mrs Hannah Oakey was held on Saturday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs August Schmidt, 611 Storrs Ave
The many beautiful floral tributes which were in evidence and the many persons who attended showed the high esteem in which the deceased was held
Mrs Oakey who was the mother of Harry Oakey, local school director, was an honorary member of the Ladies Aid society and was a member of the Lutheran church. The Rev John A Bender, St Johns Lutheran church West Scranton, was in charge of services. He was assisted by the Rev George Harrison, local PM church, who gave the invocation and prayer
John Oakey and Fred Oakey, nephews of the deceased, rendered “Im a Pilgrim” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”. Luther Bender sang “There’s a Beautiful Land on High”
Grandchildren of Mrs Oakey were flower carriers. They were:
