Thomas Smith Sr Taken by Death
Thomas Elias Smith Sr, RD3 Clarks Summit, died yesterday at the home of his son Thomas Jr, with whom he resided after an illess.
Born in Hughestown, son of the late Elias and Carrie Roeszler Smith, he lived most of his life in Newton-Ransom area where he was engaged in farming.
Additional survivors are:
His wife the former Beatrice Ware;
5 daughters:
Mrs Alvin Kelly, TX;
Mrs Alfred DeRosier, Philadelphia;
Miss Caroline, at home;
Mrs Larry Woemper, Newton;
and Mrs Paul Ratchford, Moscow;
a brother, Andrew, Newton;
a sister, Mrs Elmer Thomas, La Plume;
and 14 grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday from the Dailey Funeral Home, 904 Winola Rd, Clarks SUmmit, with the Rev Dwight E Giles, pastor of Newton Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Elmhurst. Friends may call tonite from 7-9 and tomorrow from 2-4 and 7-9pm
