Thomas E Smith
Thomas Edwrad Smith, Dalton RD 3, died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital after an illness. He and his wife, the former Carrie Gauthier, had been married for over 43 years.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Thomas and Beatrice Ware Smith, he resided in Milwaukee befre moving to Dalton 23 years ago. He was a retired truck driver for Jones Motos and formerly was employed by FR Post for over 35 years. An avid bowler, he was a member of several Abington leagues and was a member of Local 229 of the Teamsters Union and Our Lady of the Abingtons Church. He was an Air Force veteran of WW2.

3 sons: Thomas, Dedham, Mass; Dale, Tunkhannock; and Armand “Guy”, Factoryville;
4 sisters:
Mrs Emily DeRosier, Philadelphia;
Mrs Lillian Woempner, Caspian, Mich;
Mrs Nancy Ratchford and Miss Carrie Smith, both of Scranton;
8 grandchildren; nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death ny a son, Terry, on Christmas Day 196 5; and a sister Sally Kelly.
The funeral will be Friday from Jennings-Calvey Funeral Home, 111 Colburn Avr, Clarks Summit, with Mass at 10 am Our Lady of the ABingtons Church. Interment Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst.
