- wouldn’t let Uncle Harry Wetherill first into the house on New Year’s Day as he had red hair (1st visitor to cross threshhold in new year had to have dark hair for good luck)
- couldn’t enter the house by one door and exit by another
-very upset if you dropped silverware
- didn’t wash blankets in May, bad luck
