WEDDED BY REV JB SWEET
Mr Elias A SMith, a wealthy resident of Newton, and Mrs Amy A Berton, a widow of this city, went to the parsonage of the Simpson ME church on North Hyde PArk avenue on Saturday night and were joined in marriage by Rev JB Sweet, pastor of that church. The aged couple were unaccompanied. The nuptial service was witnessed ny the members of Rev Mr Sweets family. After the ceremony Mr&Mrs Smith left for their home in Newton, wherre the groom owns several prosperous farms.

Elias A SMith, aged 73 years, died (top of next column)
of heart failure Thursady morning. Mr Smith had been in feeble health the past few years. Last Thursday morning he went down the hill to a neighbors and on his return dropped in the road, where he was found by his wife, and expired shortly afterward.
He is survived by a wife,
4 sons:
George, of Mill City (who is ill at the present writing);
Curtis B; William and Elias Jr;
and a daughter Mrs Horace Ross, all of Newton.
Interment was made in Newton cemetery.
