TREASURY HEAD”S MOTHER DIES
New York April 13 - Mrs CR Woodin mother of the Secretary of the Treasury William H Woodin died at 4:26am today today at her home. She was 86 years old.
The mother of the cabinet official suffered a stroke of paralysis last Sunday and failed to improve.
The secretary of the treasury was with her during the last moments of her life. He had arrived from Washington yesterday.
Mrs Woodin was the widow if Clemuel Ricketts Woodin. He died in 1931. Her husband was one of the founders of the American Car and Foundry company. His son, new secretary of the treasury, took over the corporation’s leadership some years ago and retained it until his appointment to the Roosevelt cabinet.
Mrs Woodin was the former Mary Dickerman, daughter of Dr and Mrs Clark Dickerman. She was born at Harford PA and was educated in the pubic schools of her native town and at Harford University.
In 1865 she was married to Woodin.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon. There will alos be services on Saturday afternoon at the 1st Methodist church in Berwick PA. Burial will be in the family masoleum at Berwick
Clemuel Woodin was president of the Jackson & Woodin Manufacturing company in Berwick. Although Mrs Woodin continued to reside most of the time in New York where she is listed in the social register, she maintained her home at Berwick.

New York, April 13-(Associated Press)—Mrs. C R Woodin, mother of Secretary of the Treasury William H Woodin, died early this morning at the Woodin home at 32 East 64th street
Mrs. Woodin was in her 86th year. Funeral services to be attended by members of the family will be held Friday afternoon. There will also be services at the First Methodist church, Berwick, Pa, at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be in the family mausoleum at Berwick.
Mrs. Woodin was reported to have suffered a stroke of paralysis Sunday and had been critically ill since then. She died at 4:20 am today.
Mary Dickerman Woodin was born Nov 24, 1847, at Harford, Pa., the daughter of Clark Dlckerman, MD. She was educated in the schools of Harford and at Harford University. She was married in 1865 to Clemuel Ricketts Woodin, who died in 1931.
