Edward E Evans, 88, West Scranton, Dies
Edward E Evans, 88, well known West Scranton resident, died yesterday at the home of his dughter, Mrs Evelyn Jones, 312 South Main Avenue, after a brief illness.
Born in South Wales, Mr Evans had lived in this city 70 years and was one of the oldest members of the Ebenezer Welsh Presbyterian Church. A michinist, he had been employed by the American Locomotve Company, the Dickson Works and Finch Manufacturing Company.
Besides his daughy, Mrs Jones, he is survived by:
another daughter Mrs Gwen Walters, Scranton;
a son ALbert Evans, purchasing agent for Williams Bakery,
and 2 grandchildren, Evelyn and Audrey Jones.
The funeral will be held at 2pm from the home of his daughter, Mrs Jones. Interment Forest Holl Cemetery. Arrangements Robert B Phillips.
