Evelyn J Sly, 92, of Quarryville, PA, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday evening, 18 aug 2015, at the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community.
Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Alvin G and Evelyn A Evans Jones and the wife of the late Thomas H Sly who passed away in 2004.
Evelyn was a 1941 graduate of Scranton Technical High School and a member of the St James Episcopal Church in Lancaster PA. She retired from Lancaster General Hospital in 1985, as secretary for the vice presdient of financial affairs. Prior to that she was a secretary at the former First National Bank of Scranton.
She is survived by her daughter, Marsha E Worthington of Quarryville, Pa;
her son, Gary T (Linda) Sly of Lancaster;
9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren;
and her sister Audrey J Walters of Clark Summit, PA.
Also surviving are her special cousins: Robert and Elizabeth Sly of Virginia.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn was predeceased by a great grand daughter Mikeala Wagner.
Sevices were held in Lancaster PA with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Scranton PA.
