Carroll "Hook" J. Lewis of Montrose, Pa.Carroll "Hook" J. Lewis, 75, of Montrose, Pa., died Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Meadow View Senior Living Center.
Born June 21, 1928 in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Carroll J. and Charlotte Bray Lewis. His wife Doris Oakes Lewis survives him.
He was a member of Camp Corby for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed NASCAR, gardening and football. He was the recipient of the Pennsylvania Game Commission triple trophy award for a buck, turkey and bear in the same season. He also served in the Navy during WW II.
Besides his wife, survivors include, daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn L. and Robert Stevens, Montrose, Karen L. and Robert Terboss, Apalachin; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard C. and Penny Lewis, Montrose, Alan J. Lewis, Montrose, Randy D. and Judy Lewis, Marietta, Pa; seven grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Loftus, Pittsburgh, Pa., and Peggy Moore, Virginia Beach, Va.; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Lewis, and Betty Kruper.
Services will be Sunday, February 8, 2004, at 3 p.m. at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., a Selected Independent Funeral Home, 74 Church Street, Montrose, Pa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barnes-Kasson Home Health Care, 400 Turnpike Street, Susquehanna, Pa. 18847.
