PIONEER RESIDENT IS CLAIMED BY DEATH
Olyphant, March 28 — Thomas L Davis died at his home at Susquhanna avenue and Grant street this afternoon at 2 oclock, following an illness of several weeks of a complication of diseases. Deceased was born in South Wales. He came to America in 1867 and had resided in Olyphant ever since. He was one of the first settlers of the town and was a man held in the higest esteen by everyone.
3 daughters and 3 sons survive him. They are:
Mrs JH Feeley,
Mrs William J Davis, of this place;
Mrs Oliver Simons,
John and
Albert Davis of Scranton;
and William Davis of Oregon.

TL Davis Buried
The funeral of Thomas L Davis was held from the family home on Susquehanna avenue and Grant street this afternoon at 2 oclocl. The services were attended by mnay relatives and friends of the deceased. The Rev William T Prosser officiated and during the service “I Need Thee Every Hour,” “Nearer My Gid to Thee,” and “Dydd Myrdd O Ryfeddodaue” were rendered.
The body, accompanied by the relatives and friends, was taken to Union cemetery and laid at rest. The pallbearers were: William T Evand, John J Davis, DC Evans, William Leek, Edward Harris and Henry Williams.
OLYPHANT NOTES
Mrs Joseph Harris and Miss Sadie Griffith of Scranton, and John Griffith of Des Moines, Iowa, were the guests of Mr & Mrs John J Davis of West Lackawanna avenue yesterday.
