Ethel S. Tweedie

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Ethel S. Tweedie, 82, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Margaretville, N.Y., passed away Monday, July 22, 2002, in Fort Myers, Fla.
She was born June 29, 1920, in Olyphant, Pa., the daughter of Isaac Smailes and Ethel Himm.
She married Roy Tweedie on Aug. 23, 1942, in the Primitive Methodist Church, Dickson City, Pa. He died Aug. 13, 1998.
She graduated from Dickson City High, Dickson City, Pa., in 1938, and from the Empire Beauty College in Scranton, Pa.
Ethel at one time was the owner of a beauty shop in Pennsylvania. She worked for New York Telephone Co. in Fleischmanns, N.Y., and for Dr. C.R. Huggins, Margaretville.
She lived in Walton, N.Y., from 1942-1952; in 1952 she moved to Margaretville; in 1973 she moved to Fort Myers, Fla.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Home Bureau, the Ceramic Club and the United Presbyterian Church, Margaretville.
Ethel is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna T. and Ivan L. Eignor, North Fort Myers, Fla., and Karen Tweedie Bouvier and W. Philip Bouvier, Fort Myers, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald L. and Kathleen Tweedie, Margaretville, N.Y.; three grandsons, Kyle I. Eignor, Lakeland, Fla., Lloyd P. Bouvier and wife, Jane, Puyallup, Wash., and Ken D. Bouvier and wife, Christina, Livermore, Calif.; two granddaughters, Pamela S. Eignor, North Fort Myers, Fla., and Jessica Tweedie, Portland, Ore.; great-granddaughters, Kayla, Heather and Briana Bouvier, Puyallup, Wash.; great-grandson, Jarrett Bouvier, Livermore, Calif.; very special niece and family, Kimberly and Michael Sheffield, Hanford, Calif., and Erin and Ryan; two brothers, Thomas H. Smailes Sr., Moscow, Pa., and Arja Smailes, San Antonio, Texas; and one sister, Eileen Kucharski, Douglasville, Pa.
She was predeceased by one brother, Ray Smailes, who died in 1990.
Graveside and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in the Annex of the Margaretville Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Dykstra, officiating.
Burial will be in the Margaretville Cemetery Annex, Margaretville.
Contributions in memory of Ethel S. Tweedie may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
Arrangements are by the Hynes Funeral Home, Margaretville.
