-“could get drunk on a dime’s worth of beer” family lore - story per Nani - Uncle Hughie (Bampi’s brother) was visiting from Endicott NY and he and Grandpa Hughes went to a tap room in Olyphant. Uncle Hughie carried Grandpa Hughes on his back to Aunt Cassie’s house on 5th St in Blakey (uphill).
-Per Nani (aug 2006), was either one of 6 sons or had 6 brothers, one named Evan (as opposed to odd) and one named Humphrey, all of whom were taller than WIlliam who was maybe 5 foot tall.
- DC says in USA 68yrs which means IMM 1878 @age 18, but 50th anniv (1938) says in USA 68yrs and IMM at age 10 which means IMM abt 1870, orig from North Wales

William Hughes, a Blakely resident for 50 years, died Saturday in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Stanley Griffiths, 125 Fifth St., Blakely, after an illness.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by his wife, Mary, and two sons, William, Blakely, and Hugh, Oswego, NY. The funeral will be held from his daughter’s home at a time to be announced.
