Harol Millers note 45th aniiversary
Mr &Mrs Harold J Miller, 422 W Grove St, Taylor, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Monday.
They were wed on 4 aug 1941, in Dickson City Primitive Methodist Church by the late Rev William J Wayers. Their attendants included Mrs Raino Hall Washo, maid of honor; John H Miller, best man; James D Oakey Jr, ringbearer; Mrs Nancy Oakey Kuranda, junior bridesmaid; the late James H Oakey, Wilfred Oakey, and Richard Oakey, ushers; Luther Bender was soloist.
Mrs Miller, the former Fay Rose Oakey, is the daughter of the late Mr&Mrs James A Oakey of Dickson City. Mr Miller is the son of hte late Mr&Mrs John MIller Sr of Taylor.
Mr Miller was employed by American Stores Company (Acme Markets) for 42 years, retiring in 1979 as sales manager working out of Division 5 headquarters in Forty Fort.
Mr& Mrs Miller have a sone, Donald H, Clark Summit, and 2 grandchildren, Allison Blythe Miller and Eric Donald Miller.
To celebrate the occasion, a trip to Australia and New Zealand is planned.

Mr&Mrs Harold J Miller, Taylor, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Saturday.
They were married 4 aug 1941 in Dickson City Primitive Methodist Church by the late Rev William J Waters. They were attended by Mrs Raino Hall Washo, John H Miller Jr, James D Oakey, Nancy Oakey Kurnda, the late James H Oakey, the late Wilfred E Oakey, the late Richard Oakey, and the late Luther Bender.
Mrs Miller id the former Fay Rose Oakey, daughter of the late Mr&Mrs James A Oakey.
Mr Miller is the son of the late Mr&Mrs John Miller Sr. Prior to retirement, he was employed by American Stores Co (Acme Markets) Division 5 Headquarters, Forty Fort.
The couple had 2 children: Donald H, Clarks Summit, and the late Jane Ann. They have 2 grandchildren, and a great granddaughter.
They will mark the occasion with family and friends on 4 August.

I wanted to let you know that you have linked Aunt Fay Oakey Miller (the youngest sister of my grandfather Wilfred E Oakey who is buried in the Union Cemetery, Peckville, PA) to the wrong parents. She is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery, Dunmore.

Her parents were James A (1880-1942) and Jane Ann Wear OAKEY (1881-1977).
I believe they are buried in the Primitive Methodist cemetery in Dickson City (my dad took me a few years ago and I have a photo of their headstone), but I don't see a memorial for them.

I am happy to send you a copy of Aunt Fay and Uncle Harold's Lackawanna County Marriage License if you would like.
Their daughter Jane Ann (Find A Grave Memorial 158191440) is also buried in Forest Hill Cemetery in Dunmore. I can also send you a copy of Jane Ann's Pennsylvania Death Certificate if you like.
